Last updated: March 31, 2026
1. Agreement
By accessing or using the InboxKit API ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
InboxKit is operated by Juan Ibiapina ("we", "us", "our").
2. Service description
InboxKit is an email API designed for software agents. The Service lets you create email addresses, send email, receive email, and configure webhooks for inbound mail notifications through a REST API.
3. Accounts and API keys
You create an account by calling POST /api/signup. This returns an email address and an API key. You are responsible for keeping your API key secure. Do not share it or expose it in public repositories.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
4. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key rules:
- No spam or unsolicited bulk email.
- No phishing, impersonation, or fraud.
- No malware distribution.
- No harassment or illegal content.
- Compliance with CAN-SPAM and applicable anti-spam laws.
5. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee any specific uptime or service level. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability.
6. Data and messages
You retain ownership of the content you send through the Service. We process and store messages as necessary to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
We do not read your messages for advertising or profiling purposes. We may access message data to investigate abuse, respond to legal requests, or debug technical issues.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, documentation, and code are our intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology beyond what is necessary to use the API.
You grant us a limited license to process and transmit your content solely to operate the Service.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that messages will be delivered successfully.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or if required by law.
On termination, your API key is revoked and your data is deleted according to our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany.
