Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 31, 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines what is and is not allowed when using the InboxKit API ("Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service. Violating this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to send, store, or distribute:
- Spam: unsolicited bulk email, chain letters, or messages to purchased/scraped lists.
- Phishing: messages designed to trick recipients into revealing credentials, financial information, or other sensitive data.
- Impersonation: emails that misrepresent the sender's identity or falsely claim affiliation with another person or organization.
- Malware: viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any malicious software or links to such software.
- Illegal content: material that violates applicable laws, including but not limited to child exploitation material, content that incites violence, or material that infringes intellectual property rights.
- Harassment: threatening, abusive, or intimidating messages directed at individuals or groups.
3. Prohibited activities
You may not:
- Use the Service to send email to recipients who have not consented to receive it.
- Harvest or collect email addresses from the internet for the purpose of sending unsolicited email.
- Forge email headers or manipulate identifiers to disguise the origin of messages.
- Use the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks or flood any system with excessive traffic.
- Attempt to access other users' accounts, messages, or API keys.
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without written permission.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
4. Email compliance
All email sent through the Service must comply with:
- The CAN-SPAM Act (United States).
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, European Union).
- The Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
- Any other applicable anti-spam and electronic communication laws in the sender's and recipient's jurisdictions.
This includes providing accurate sender information and honoring opt-out requests where applicable.
5. Rate limits
The Service enforces rate limits and sending quotas to ensure fair use. Attempting to circumvent these limits is a violation of this policy. Current limits are communicated through API response headers.
6. Monitoring and enforcement
We monitor usage patterns to detect violations. We may review message metadata (not content) for abuse prevention. When we detect a potential violation, we may:
- Warn you and request corrective action.
- Throttle your sending rate.
- Suspend your account pending investigation.
- Terminate your account and delete associated data.
The severity of the response depends on the nature and impact of the violation. We may skip steps for serious violations.
7. Reporting abuse
If you receive abusive email from an InboxKit address or become aware of a violation of this policy, please report it to juanibiapina@gmail.com. Include the full email headers and any relevant details. We will investigate and take appropriate action.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
